WARMEST WISHES FOR THIS SEASON

Among many design-related practices and hobbies, I also enjoy the occasional, relaxing non-design project. Spoiler: My favorite winter activity is cozying up and knitting! While I have incredibly talented friends that tie together design AND knitting, I am not one of them. I am a novice knitter at best, but that means when I do successfully complete a project, I’m extra proud of myself.

This season’s big (technically small) project was a pair of mittens! My first foray into mitten-making—I’m still very new to double-pointed needles—and also my first real colorwork pattern, this project was a challenge. I used the Snöfall pattern created by Matilda Kruse and Malabrigo Yarns.

The final mittens took a little bit of blocking to make them look close to identical, but I’m quite proud of the final outcome. These ended up being a Christmas gift, but I’m about to cast-on another pair for myself. So here’s to hoping your season is as warm and cozy as this pair of mittens!
